Recently, China's first 1000MVA/500kV large-capacity high-efficiency oil-immersed transformer was successfully commissioned at the site of a key power transmission project. All performance indicators have reached the international advanced level. The commissioning of this transformer has filled the technical gap in the relevant domestic field, will provide strong support for the safe and stable operation of the regional power grid, and help optimize and upgrade the energy structure.
It is understood that this oil-immersed transformer was jointly developed by a well-known domestic power equipment enterprise and a university research team over two years. During the R&D process, the team overcame a number of core technical difficulties such as the optimization of magnetic density of large-capacity iron cores, the design of high-efficiency heat dissipation structures, and the improvement of insulation reliability. It adopts new environmentally friendly insulating oil and low-loss magnetic conductive materials. Compared with traditional products, the loss is reduced by more than 15%, the service life is extended to 30 years, and it has stronger short-circuit resistance and environmental adaptability.
"The successful commissioning of this transformer marks China's leap from following to leading in the R&D and manufacturing field of large-capacity oil-immersed transformers," the project leader said. The rated capacity of the equipment reaches 1000MVA, which can meet the power transmission needs of 1000MW-class generator sets, effectively alleviate the contradiction between regional power supply and demand, and improve the power grid's ability to absorb new energy power such as wind power and photovoltaic power.
Industry experts said that as a core equipment of the power system, the technological breakthrough of large-capacity high-efficiency oil-immersed transformers is of great significance for promoting the localization of domestic power equipment and ensuring energy security. In the next step, the R&D team will continue to deepen technological innovation, promote the development of products towards higher efficiency, intelligence and environmental protection, and provide more core equipment support for building a new power system.
