The YB-type prefabricated substation, also known as the European-style prefabricated substation, conforms to standards such as GB17467-1998 "High and Low Voltage Prefabricated Substations" and IEC1330. As a new type of power supply and distribution device, it has many advantages over traditional civil engineering substations. Due to its small size, small footprint, compact structure, and ease of relocation, it greatly shortens the construction period and reduces the land area required, thus also reducing construction costs.

Meanwhile, prefabricated substations are easy to install on-site, provide rapid power supply, and are simple to maintain, requiring no dedicated personnel. In particular, they can be located close to load centers, which is crucial for improving power quality, reducing energy loss, enhancing power supply reliability, and upgrading the distribution network. Prefabricated substations perform the functions of power transformation, distribution, transmission, metering, compensation, system control, protection, and communication.

The YB-type substation consists of four parts: a high-voltage switchgear, a low-voltage distribution panel, a distribution transformer, and the enclosure. The high-voltage component is an air load switch, and the transformer is either a dry-type or oil-immersed transformer. The enclosure features a well-insulated and ventilated structure, an attractive appearance , and excellent insulation performance. It also includes vertical ventilation ducts, minimizing the temperature rise in the transformer room and high/ low voltage compartments caused by outdoor radiation. The enclosure is equipped with a temperature-controlled forced ventilation system and an automatic solar temperature control system. Each independent unit is equipped with a complete control, protection, live display, and lighting system.
